Housing is one of the biggest challenges facing our country, and in each election cycle, seems to be one of the most fiercely debated topics. Everyone agrees that there is a problem with our housing situation, but very few people can agree on the solution, or even on what the root of the problem is. In Thinking Beyond The Market, Dr. Brian Doucet does not offer his own solutions, but rather he sets out to highlight solutions that various communities have already tried out. Traveling from coast to coast, this is not a film about the theory of what COULD be done, it is instead a film about the things that are already being done on a small scale, asking us to imagine what our country could look like if these ideas were implemented nationwide.
