Toronto, and by extent Canada, is in the midst of a housing crisis - but SEAHORSE is not a film about statistics or solutions, it's a film about two individuals struggling with housing insecurity, and the complicated web of love, resentment, guilt, and responsibility that follows when someone who has disappeared from your life suddenly returns. Drawing from writer, director, and lead actor Aisha Evelyna's own experiences, the film begins with a question she has often asked herself while passing unhoused men on Toronto's streets: what if one of them was her father?
