Nina Roza follows Mihail, a Bulgarian immigrant who has spent nearly three decades building a new life in Montreal. When an eight-year-old Bulgarian girl named Nina becomes an overnight sensation for her remarkable paintings, Mihail is sent back to his homeland to authenticate her work. What begins as a seemingly straightforward investigation into a young artistic prodigy soon becomes something much more personal, forcing Mihail to confront a country, a culture, and a past he has spent decades trying to leave behind.
