From the 60s to the 80s, the animation studio Filmation was responsible for such classic Saturday Morning cartoons as “Fat Albert”, “Star Trek: The Animated Series”, and “Ghostbusters”. But none quite as impactful on pop culture as their Mattel adaptation, “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe”. Having spent his life dedicated to preserving and celebrating the works of this animation studio, James Eatock decides to set out on a journey to make his own episode of “Masters of the Universe”. Using 21st century digital tools to authentically replicate Filmation’s signature look, Eatock and his team garnered immense anticipation from the fan community. However, things took a dramatic turn when the rights holders of the “He-Man” franchise sent a cease & desist, prohibiting the fan film from being exhibited publicly.
