When Mona Friedman (Academy Award winner Julianne Moore) is cast in a bit part at a small community theater, she transforms from a shy, unassuming housewife into a zealous method actor willing to do anything to protect the artistic integrity of her marginal role. Even if it means waging war against the show’s domineering director (in a career-best performance by Academy Award nominee Paul Giamatti). What follows is part Waiting For Guffman, and part Black Swan, as Moore’s character pursues perfection at any cost, all against the hilariously low-stakes backdrop of a small-town musical theater production.
Also showing on Saturday October 24, 2026 at 8 PM at Imagine Cinemas 5.
