Kevin Kane and Tom Hooper met as teens in Kelowna, BC, bonding over music with Tom’s brother Chris and jamming in the Hooper basement. In 1983, the trio formed The Grapes of Wrath, blending ’60s British Invasion influences with punk and new wave energy. They released several acclaimed albums, including Treehouse (1987) and Now and Again (1989), with hits like Peace of Mind and All the Things I Wasn’t. With strong support from MuchMusic and international releases, the band achieved gold and platinum success before disbanding in 1992.
They reunited in the late 1990s and again in 2009, leading to the 2013 release of High Road, their first new album in 22 years. Still active with the original lineup, they’ve continued to tour and perform. Now, Tom and Kevin are once again hitting the road as a duo, offering intimate, acoustic performances that highlight the harmonies and stories behind their timeless songs.
