Yaya’s Kitchen is a curated culinary space rooted in storytelling, culture, and intention. Every detail—from the food and drink to the atmosphere and soundscape—is thoughtfully crafted to immerse guests in a rich sensory experience.
Yaya’s Kitchen Pop-up and Supper Club began in Maryam & Malvin’s backyard in 2017 and slowly spilled over into the kitchen and dining room. They held monthly pop-up events featuring the foods from Northern Nigeria and the Sahel region that introduced old friends and strangers to new taste’s, aromas, sights, sounds and new preparations.
Yaya’s Kitchen Pop-up & Supper Club (YK) is not a restaurant. It is curated space that celebrates their heritage as a family: Nigeria and Guyana and the spaces and places they have seen, broken bread and lived life. They celebrate their heritage and journey and find their impetus in everywhere they have been and the influences of those they have met. You are invited to their table to share in the journey, indulge in their influences and take a seat at their table where you are all friends and family.
Reservations are accepted for their tasting menus in the dining room from 7 PM to 9 PM. Dining room seating is available for reservations 7 PM only - they have one service per evening. They are closed from Sunday to Thursday to the public. Special events and private dinners can be booked during these days.
