Ian Thomas is “the complete entertainment experience!” A film composer with 22 feature films to his credit, an author, and an actor recognized for roles such as Dougie Franklin on The Red Green Show, Thomas is also a Juno-award-winning singer-songwriter whose music helped form the bedrock of the Canadian musical landscape. His contributions were recognized by SOCAN with a National Achievement Award for Songwriting, and he is set for induction into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in October 2025. Thomas first garnered major radio airplay in 1973 with the top-40 single Painted Ladies, followed by a string of hits throughout the 70s, 80s, and into the 90s with his band The Boomers. His songs, whether performed by him or covered by artists including Santana, Chicago, Manfred Mann, America, Bon Jovi, and Bette Midler, have achieved heavy rotation on radio across Canada and worldwide.
In the new millennium, Thomas joined fellow singer-songwriters Murray McLauchlan, Marc Jordan, and Cindy Church to form Lunch At Allen’s, touring coast to coast and releasing five albums. With his stellar 4-piece band, Ian Thomas brings past to present, recreating the original sound of his hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and beyond. Celebrated for his enduring artistry, Thomas continues to share his interactive, deeply personal songs with audiences, delivering an unforgettable live experience — truly “Not Gone Yet!”
