This is the 26th Dash 4 Dad to raise money for prostate cancer treatment and research. Prostate cancer is still one of the leading cancers in men, with 1 in 9 men diagnosed each year in Canada. Over the past 25 years, Dash 4 Dad has donated 1.5 million dollars to LHSF. All of the money raised stays in London and helps support men in Southwestern Ontario. The event features a 5-kilometre run/walk with the added benefits of a food tent, face painting, balloon animals, a silent auction, and the presentation of awards. As one of our first festivals, we want to keep promoting our Colombian gastronomy and all the positivity and beautiful things that Colombia offers, despite all the negativity we had with drug dealers and war. We want to show that Colombia is more than that. We will feature food by region, salsa orchestra, and other authentic Colombian music, such as vallenato. This year, we plan to have chicha, an ancestral indigenous drink, as a primary beverage with the collaboration of our beer partner, London Brewing Coop. Year after year, we have offered more authentic taquerias and fusion taco vendors that play with cultural food diversity, mixing flavours and knowledge. Last year, we created the best birria taco competition and will continue adding tacos al pastor and carnitas competitions.
