Anthony Gomes is a Canadian blues and rock guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and producer known for his high-energy performances and electrifying guitar work. Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Gomes was inspired by legends such as Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, and Jeff Beck, picking up the guitar at age 14. His talent quickly gained recognition when B.B. King’s bus driver noticed him at a jam night, leading to an invitation to open for King in 2005. Over the years, Gomes has shared the stage with artists including Buddy Guy, Robert Plant, Joe Bonamassa, Heart, and Sammy Hagar, while amassing tens of millions of streams and topping the Billboard Blues Chart at #1.
Gomes’ 2022 album High Voltage Blues dominated the charts, reaching #1 on the iTunes Top Blues Albums, Amazon Music’s New Release Blues Chart, and Billboard Blues Chart, remaining on the latter for 58 consecutive weeks. Recognized as one of the top blues guitarists globally, he was listed by Total Guitar among the 100 Greatest Blues Guitarists of All Time in 2024 and by Guitar World as one of the 30 Best Blues Guitarists in the World Today in 2019. His 14th studio album, Praise the Loud (2025), features 12 new tracks that highlight his musical evolution while retaining the signature no-holds-barred blues-rock sound that has earned him a worldwide fan base.
