Jane Siberry is one of Canada’s most original and influential singer-songwriters, known for transcendent works such as Calling All Angels, Love Is Everything, and the iconic Mimi On The Beach. Her haunting contribution to The Crow soundtrack, It Won’t Rain All The Time, remains deeply resonant three decades later. Despite a prolific career, Siberry reflects that she feels she is still “inching… toward [her] prime,” highlighting her ongoing creative evolution and commitment to artistic growth.
Siberry has been a pioneer in reshaping the relationship between creativity and commerce. After leaving Warner/Reprise Records in 1996, she founded her own label, Sheeba, and introduced a “pay-what-you-can” model for music downloads, emphasizing trust and generosity in the artist-audience relationship. She also transformed live performance by creating intimate “salon” tours around the world, from llama farms in New Zealand to bell towers in rural England, fostering connection and community. Her performances are described as intense, humorous, and emotionally freeing, reflecting her deep commitment to her craft and her audience.
