With less than six months to the start of the 2024 Ontario Summer Games, the Host Organizing Committee is excited to announce that volunteer registration is now officially open.
600 volunteers are needed to help support the Games, which will feature over 3500 participants competing in 18 different sports across the city over the Civic holiday weekend, from August 1-4.
“We’re thrilled to launch our volunteer recruitment campaign for the London 2024 Ontario Summer Games. Many members of the community have already inquired about opportunities, so we’re excited to finally share more information. Volunteers play a critical role in the success of these games. Whether you’ve volunteered in the past or this is your first time, we have roles for everyone and look forward to working with the community to create a memorable event for all involved.”
Dave De Kelver, General Manager, London 2024 Ontario Summer Games
As part of the application process, volunteers will have the opportunity to select specific areas of interest including transportation, security, medical, logistics, Opening Ceremony, photography, sport specific roles and more. This is a unique chance to meet fellow Londoners, gain valuable experience, complete volunteer hours and have fun all while helping showcase our city to the rest of the province.
All volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and will be required to submit a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC). Volunteers must also attend a mandatory training session, where they will pick up their t-shirt and volunteer package. Multiple sessions will be scheduled, and information will be available at a later date. Application does not guarantee selection and the Games Organizing Committee will be in touch once the recruitment window has closed. To learn more about the Games, visit www.london2024.ca.
To register to volunteer, visit www.london2024.ca/volunteer. Applications will remain open until all roles are fills so register today.
