The Lantern Puppet Parade with the Coves Collective Ensemble is a vibrant, illuminated musical celebration that combines participatory artmaking with environmental activism. Starting at the Lower Harris Park parking lot, attendees of all ages can bring their own instruments and paper lanterns—or pick them up on-site—to join a magical lantern puppet parade through Ron Benner’s As the Crow Flies, an iconic outdoor garden installation on the western grounds of Museum London, celebrating its 20th anniversary.
As dusk falls, the festivities continue with a lively musical dance party featuring live performances on drums, guitar, and trumpet. The evening culminates with a special video screening by artist Sheri Osden Nault, projected onto Museum London’s external screens overlooking the Deshkan Ziibi/Thames River. Nault’s work highlights the Coves of London, a rare urban Environmentally Significant Area rich in biodiversity, offering stunning visuals that connect viewers to nature in a memorable celebration of art and environmental care.
