  • LONDON, July 25, 2022 – Tourism London and the London Majors Baseball Corp. are pleased to announce that this Friday, July 25, 2022 will be “Fergie Jenkins Day” at Labatt Park as the London Majors take on the Hamilton Cardinals at 7:35pm.  Postponed from earlier this summer due to COVID-19, the MLB Hall of Fame and former London Majors Pitcher will be in attendance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, sign autographs for fans, and experience the newly created Labatt Park Tours.

Launched in 2021, Labatt Park is now offering guided tours of the venue where guests can learn more about the World’s Oldest Continually Operating Baseball Grounds. This includes seeing photos and hearing stories on the impact Labatt Park had on the game of baseball as well as learning about some of the legendary players to play at Labatt Park, including Ty Cobb, Satchel Paige, Honus Wagner and even Deion Sanders. Even the officially Guinness World Record certificate is available for viewing inside the original 1940s clubhouse, filled with historical artifacts from over the years.

It is always a pleasure when we have the opportunity to honour one of our alumni, especially someone like Fergie who had such an incredible career and a tremendous impact on the game of baseball. We are so excited to welcome Fergie back to London and have all of our Majors fans share this experience with him!
Scott Dart – President & Owner, London Majors Baseball Corp.

Having Fergie Jenkins return to Labatt Park is a great opportunity for all sports fans in London to meet a baseball legend.
