The Telenovela Archives is a travelling exhibition on the history of TV serials in Latin America (1950-1999).
The Telenovela Archives is a research-creation project on the early history of TV serials in Latin America. The Faculty of Information and Media Studies at the University of Western Ontario will host an adaptation of the project for Canadian audiences, exploring its connection with the migration experience. Through dialogue and collaboration, the project will present aspects of the project that are relevant for the Western community and London at large.

The History of Latin American TV Series (1950-1999) explores the visual evidence of the work produced in that period: photographs, advertising materials, books, periodicals, films, and videos. It is an approach to the stories that were created in the region, as well as an opportunity to understand their impact across the globe and throughout generations.
‘The Telenovela Archives’ is a research, documentation, and dissemination project aimed at exploring and preserving the history of the telenovela and other serialized drama formats in Latin America. It was supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, the London Arts Council, University of Western Ontario, Cuban Heritage Collection - University of Miami, and Cinemateca Brasileira.
