• A.B. Lucas Secondary School to host 2018 OFSAA Girls' AAA Basketball Championships

  • We are pleased to announce today that the 2018 Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) AAA Girls’ Basketball Championships have been awarded to A.B. Lucas Secondary School here in London.


    (London, Ontario) – The tournament will be played November 28 to December 1st, 2018 and will feature the top 18 girls’ high school basketball teams in Ontario battling for the provincial championship.

    “We are thrilled to have been awarded the 2018 AAA OFSAA Girls Basketball Championship” said Kris Potter, Chair of the Local Organizing Committee and Head Coach of the A. B. Lucas Girls Basketball team. “We are excited for the opportunity and look forward to having the best high school girls’ basketball teams in the province all coming to London.”

    When asked about the event, Shamus Bourdon, Assistant Director at OFSAA mentioned that "OFSAA is excited that Girls' AAA Basketball will return to London in 2018. Hosting an event this size takes a lot of support and many volunteer hours.  The OFSAA Executive Council appreciates convenor Kris Potter, A.B. Lucas Secondary School, Tourism London, and the City of London for making the commitment to providing a positive experience for the hundreds of student-athletes and teacher-coaches around the province."

    London last hosted the OFSAA Girls AAA Basketball Championships in 2013 at Regina Mundi Catholic College (RMC).
