  • Londoners being called on once again to show their support by volunteering August 2nd to 5th, 2018

(London, Ontario)Calling all volunteers! The London 2018 Ontario Summer Games Host Organizing Committee announced today the official launch of their volunteer registration program. Approximately 1000 volunteers will be needed when London welcomes more than 3500 participants, along with their friends and families over the long weekend, August 2nd – 5th, 2018.

For volunteers, this is a great opportunity to gain experience at a multi-sport Games, meet fellow Londoners, and come together to showcase our city. Volunteer positions will range from accreditation, sport and event operations, transportation, and Opening Ceremony, to just name a few!

Those looking to register or learn more are asked to visit www.london2018.ca/volunteer, where they will be asked to submit their information and areas of interest. There is no fee to volunteer, however a Vulnerable Sector Check is required. Uniforms will be provided and applying to volunteer does not guarantee selection.

"Ontario is delighted to support multi-sport events like the London 2018 Ontario Summer Games.  The Games not only provide competitive opportunities to our athletes, but also showcase community volunteerism and contribute to local economic activity. Volunteers are key to the success of these events, so I encourage Londoners to show their support by volunteering for 2018 Summer Games and join me in watching our athletes compete this summer.”

    - Minister Daiene Vernile - Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport

"London has an army of volunteers who pull off amazing events time and time again. This is a great opportunity for London and I have no doubt that the community will rally behind it. Thank you to everyone who dedicates their time to ensure we can host these high calibre games."

    - Mayor Matt Brown - City of London

“Through the years of hosting countless successful events, London has developed a great reputation when it comes to volunteers so we have no doubt the community will come through again. These Games are a wonderful opportunity to gain experience, meet fellow engaged citizens, and showcase our great city to over 3500 participants and their families. With so many areas to volunteer in, there truly is something for everyone and we look forward to working with members of the community to make these Games a phenomenal success!”
