    FCLMA London Music Week

    London Music Week is the biggest celebration of London and area music and musicians. Planning for the event dates back to the early years of the project, and with the help of our volunteer Board of Directors and some 60 volunteers forming the Steering Committee, we highlight the areas that are best in music. The week is comprised of numerous events celebrating, encouraging, and supporting musicians from this area of Ontario. FCLMW is anchored by the FCLMA Jazz and Classical Awards Show on opening night at the famed Aeolian Hall and closes with the FCLMA Pop & Rock Awards Gala Show at the London Music Hall. Events throughout the week include: The annual SoundCheck for Success  Our music career day and professional development panel/seminar/mentorship day London Live featuring many of London’s downtown live music venues The FCLMA Battle of the High School Bands, supporting young musicians A variety of showcases cut across genres and styles to present the area's musicians to the community at large.

    Mudmen in Concert

    The Palace Theatre, in collaboration with RPP, is thrilled to present Mudmen in concert. This family-friendly event promises an evening filled with Celtic music and stories from Mudmen, Canada’s Celtic Rock Warriors. The band will be performing songs from their extensive discography, which spans 11 albums, as well as debuting a few tracks from their upcoming release. Mudmen’s illustrious career includes highlights such as performing for the Queen, appearing on CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada, and participating in Bob & Doug Mackenzie’s TWO-FOUR Anniversary. They have also graced the stages of numerous high-profile events and venues, including the Brier, Memorial Cup, Grey Cup, and the Edmonton Oilers’ 84 Stanley Cup reunion gala, among others. In London, Ontario, Mudmen are a familiar presence, having performed alongside the Irish Rovers, Johnny Reid, and the Chieftains, and headlined at the Western Fair, London Ribfest, and London Balloonfest. Their music has been featured on WWE Wrestling, HBO’s Shameless, NBC’s Black Donnelly’s, and reached #19 on the Much Music/MTV top 20 countdown. With over 3000 shows in 8 different countries under their belt, Mudmen continue to amass a dedicated fan base. They’ve received accolades from notable figures such as Don Cherry, who called them “good Canadian boys”, and Johnny Reid, who dubbed them “Canada’s best kept secret”.     Dash 4 Dad: a Walk/Run for Prostate Cancer Research & Treatment

    This is the 26th Dash 4 Dad to raise money for prostate cancer treatment and research. Prostate cancer is still one of the leading cancers in men, with 1 in 9 men diagnosed each year in Canada. Over the past 25 years, Dash 4 Dad has donated 1.5 million dollars to LHSF. All of the money raised stays in London and helps support men in Southwestern Ontario. The event features a 5-kilometre run/walk with the added benefits of a food tent, face painting, balloon animals, a silent auction, and the presentation of awards.     Aeolian Classical Series - Andy Cloutier

    London based guitarist Andy Cloutier has been performing music in a variety of styles for over 15 years. As a performer of classical music, he studied classical guitar with Robert Kubica at the University of Western Ontario, where he also focused on studies in music theory and composition. He has received awards and scholarships from the University of Western Ontario, the London Kiwanis Festival, and the OMFA provincial competition. He has also participated in public master classes with world renowned artists, including Pepe Romero, Manuel Barrueco, Roland Dyens, Pavel Steidl, and the Assad Brothers. As a performer of popular music, Andy has been actively involved in London’s music scene since the early 2000’s, playing and recording with numerous bands and ensembles. Honours include awards from the London Music Awards, and the Jack Richardson Music Awards. Andy currently resides in London, where he maintains an active private teaching studio, and works as organist and music director at Strathroy United Church. Andy performs on guitars built by Canadian Luthier Bruno Boutin (2009), and Japanese Luthier Masaru Kohno (1982).

    Mother's Day Botanical Market

    Come and enjoy the Eldon House gardens in early bloom and peruse the hand grown plants and products from local entrepreneurs. From potted plants to and garden décor to natural and organic health and beauty lotions and balms to home garden supplies, come and support local artisans and gardeners in support of local businesses. The museum will be open from 10am to 4pm for guests to explore. Proceeds from the Mother’s Day Botanical Market go towards the ongoing development and maintenance of Eldon House’s historical grounds and gardens.     Join Eldon House staff at the Fanshawe Pioneer Village to enjoy Victoria Day at the Village! Join in the festivities such as heritage lawn games throughout the grounds, enjoy dancing lessons, and at 1:00 p.m. visitors will meet her royal highness! Stop by the Village’s Gardener’s Annual Spring Sprout Sale and learn fun facts about the traditional Victorian high tea with Eldon House staff. Fanshawe Pioneer Village Admission will apply.     Summer Market

    Come and enjoy the Eldon House gardens and peruse the hand made products from local entrepreneurs. From candles to textiles and home décor to health and beauty come and support local artisans and enjoy the creativity and the skills of local businesses. The museum will be open from 10am to 4pm for guests to explore. This year Eldon House will put a portion of the donations contributed by the public toward the future Interpretive Centre kitchen renovation. Eldon House strives to enhance and the kitchen facilities for future programming, special events, and community-based partnerships.
