Visitors are invited to join the opening reception of “Blinker” with David Merritt on Saturday, March 28, from 2 PM – 4 PM.

In the middle gallery for the month of April, MGG is pleased to present a selection of David Merritt artworks created between 2015 - 2025.

David Merritt (b. Hamilton in 1955) earned his BFA at Western University and an MFA from NSCAD. His multimedia practice explores the relationship between human and non-human systems. Process-driven and conceptually oriented, his work develops out of the material possibilities of drawing’s expanded field.

Merritt’s artwork is in many collections including the National Gallery of Canada, Art Gallery of Ontario, Art Gallery of Hamilton and Museum London. A touring survey exhibition of mid-career work, “shim/sham/shimmy”, was circulated in 2010 by Museum London in collaboration with the Art Gallery of Hamilton. Merritt lives in London, ON where he is Professor Emeritus at Western University.
