Formed in 2015, Crown Lands have quickly become one of Canada’s most exciting progressive rock acts. The Juno Award-winning duo—vocalist/drummer Cody Bowles and multi-instrumentalist Kevin Comeau—rose to prominence with their self-titled 2020 debut and the acclaimed 2023 follow-up Fearless. Now signed to InsideOutMusic and working toward their third studio album, Crown Lands are expanding their creative vision with two ambitious instrumental releases, Ritual I and Ritual II, showcasing layered percussion, synths, and immersive soundscapes unlike their previous work.
Created during the pandemic, the Ritual projects became an outlet for experimentation, freedom, and artistic exploration. Fueled by meditation, improvisation, and years of percussion and cultural music study, the duo embraced spontaneity and new sonic territory. Recorded first with producer Justin Meli and later independently, the albums reflect a journey rooted in creativity rather than expectation. With Ritual I & II, Crown Lands invite listeners into an evolving universe of texture, rhythm, and imagination—one that continues to push the boundaries of modern progressive rock.
