Although Canadian geese and mallards are most often found strolling through London, beautiful Wood Ducks can also be occasionally found along the Thames River and in other local wetland areas. A pair of them have been known to navigate the surrounding grasslands near the mural site.

As an artist whose work is inspired by birds, the species’ striking form and colourful plumage made the Wood Duck a natural choice for birdO's first artwork in London. The duck watches over the parking garage at 148 Dufferin Ave and a quiet corner where folks often enjoy lunch breaks or a peaceful moment of fresh air in the centre of the city.

When you’re spending time in London, what’s one thing you love to do?

Having grown up on the Canadian Prairies, hockey has been a constant presence in birdO’s life. The game is woven into the fabric of his childhood and Canadian identity, making it a natural connection to the community. Of course, sneaking in a London Knights game at Canada Life Place is always on the docket!
