Destination Canada’s Tourism Sprint Fund

Destination Canada’s Tourism Sprint Fund

Destination Canada is launching the Tourism Sprint Program! This competitive, cost-sharing initiative will fund short-term projects focused on creating innovative tourism products and supporting new tourism investment.

The program aims to quickly address barriers to investment through targeted funding, unlocking tourism opportunities and enhancing Canada’s competitive position in the global marketplace.

Expressions of Interest must be submitted by Sept. 12, after which full applications will be accepted until Oct. 1.

RBC Place London Expansion

RBC Place London Expansion

Exciting news for London’s meetings and conventions sector! RBC Place London has officially expanded its footprint by taking over operations of the King Street Ballroom, a 12,300 sq. ft. event space connected to the main facility via pedway.

This expansion strengthens London’s competitiveness in attracting and hosting major conferences, conventions and multi-day events, keeping our downtown vibrant and thriving.

Professional Development: OPTIS/NOPTIS Training Opportunity

Professional Development: OPTIS/NOPTIS Training Opportunity

We are excited to share a valuable opportunity for a representative from your team to participate in the Ontario Professional Tourism Industry Specialist (OPTIS) | Northern Ontario Professional Tourism Industry Specialist (NOPTIS) micro-credential program. Offered by Lakehead University in collaboration with leading tourism organizations, this program is available at no cost thanks to funding from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development’s Skills Development Fund Training Stream.

Program Highlights:

  1. Starts October 20th (6 weeks, approx. 4 hours/week, at your own pace)
  2. Delivered online, accessible province-wide
  3. Six core modules + optional Northern Ontario specialization
  4. Topics include product development, marketing, visitor experience, equity & inclusion and safety protocols

Who is it for?

Staff working in:

  1. Municipal and economic development
  2. Destination marketing
  3. Sector support organizations

Sponsored space is extremely limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
