Summer momentum is building across London as we prepare for one of the biggest tourism opportunities in recent history. From FIFA World Cup 2026™ activations to partner opportunities, excitement is growing across the destination.

Here’s what you’ll find in this edition:

FIFA WORLD CUP 2026™ EVENTS & ACTIVATIONS

Tourism London encourages partners across the city to submit their World Cup-related events to our Events Calendar using the “Soccer Celebrations” event tag. Whether you’re planning watch parties, themed dining, live music, cultural celebrations or fan activations, we want to showcase energy across the city.

These events will receive enhanced visibility as London joins the global celebration surrounding the world’s biggest sporting event. Tourism London will launch a dedicated World Cup events calendar to help visitors discover experiences during the tournament.

When planning promotions, partners are encouraged to review the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Community Activation Toolkit, which outlines proper usage of World Cup language, branding guidelines and public viewing requirements.

Ontario Extending Last Call

The Ontario government has announced that licensed restaurants and bars will be permitted to extend alcohol sale and service until 4 AM during the World Cup. The temporary extension runs from June 11 to July 19, supporting local businesses, hospitality workers and fans visiting Ontario during the tournament.

This presents a unique opportunity for operators to create memorable late-night experiences for visitors while benefiting from increased tourism activity.

Quick Facts

• Standard last call in Ontario is typically 2 AM.
• Toronto will host six FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches from June 12 to July 2.
• The tournament will feature 48 teams across Canada, the United States and Mexico.
• The LCBO will also extend hours at select locations across Ontario during the tournament period.

As summer heats up, Tourism London invites accommodation partners to submit their hotel packages for promotion on our website. Packages that include local festivals, attractions or tourism experiences will receive priority placements.

Welcome to the Team: Roberta

Tourism London is excited to welcome Roberta de Freitas Franca back to the team as a Senior Tourist Counsellor!

Roberta first joined Tourism London as a Seasonal Tourism Counsellor in May 2024. Her positive attitude, enthusiasm and dedication to visitor experience quickly made her a valued member of the team.

We’re thrilled to have her back and look forward to the impact she’ll continue to make supporting visitors and partners alike.

Discovery Tour: Thank You!

Last week, Tourism London hosted another amazing Discovery Tour, welcoming partners from attractions, hotels, restaurants and organizations to deepen their knowledge of London’s tourism experiences.

The day featured:

• A guided tour and tasting at Labatt Brewery
• Lunch on London Bicycle Café’s sunny patio
• A historic tour through Eldon House
• Visits to Art With Panache and TAP Centre for Creativity
