This event is online March Break Art Kit

We have put together an Art Kit full of Museum inspired activities in celebration of our 80th anniversary. Your Kit will include a project a day for March Break with full instructions and art supplies along with a special bonus because what is a birthday without a surprise! Tutorials will become available the week of March Break to give instruction and inspiration for three of the multi-step projects. These will be recorded so you can participate in your own time. Activities are geared towards children aged 6 to 12 years of age.

Kit pick-ups will be March 11 to 14, 11am - 5pm at the Museum’s front desk. Families will be notified of pick-up time changes if Museum hours alter due to public health guideline updates.

Each Kit Includes
-Mini-Museum Foldable project: you are our next generation artists and curators. Hand fold a pre-printed mini-Museum, fill it with your artwork, and give your exhibition a title. 
-3D Animal Casting project*: learn to mold and cast your own plaster animal sculpture inspired by Tom Benner’s iconic silver rhino on the Museum’s front lawn
-Fabric Tapestry project*: explore the geometry of art through repeating design and shape manipulation to create your own fabric Tapestry inspired by Under Cover: Quilts
-Fantasy Nature Collage project: let your imagination fly playing with watercolour pencil crayons and oil pastels to layer this fantasy collage inspired by Tom Benner's The Coves.
-Animation Wheel project*: bring your drawings to life in this animation lab. Learn drawing techniques, consider dynamic scenes, and shade with colour before spinning them to life
-A surprise Museum Celebration bonus 
-Written instructions for each activity with inspiration, supply tips, and project guidance
