It’s said that once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale.
Fortunately, while pumpkin coaches and magical godmothers may be a little hard to come by these days, couples looking for that special bit of pixie dust on their big day are in for a treat.
The Luxury London Bridal Show is once again set to take over the London Convention Centre on Sunday, March 3, eager to help connect would-be brides and grooms with some of the most highly sought-after wedding vendors, while they enjoy the latest fashions, trends, and luxuries in the world of wedding planning.
According to organizers Lauren De Koster and Sarah Sim, the show has continued to grow over the years, offering couples an easy and fun way to sort through the chaos — all in a lavish, interactive and exquisitely-styled setting.
And it’s not just for brides anymore.
“The fact is, everyone is welcome here . . . this isn’t just a girly event,” De Koster said with a smile. “We don’t want people to think this bridal show has to be exclusive to the bride and the bridesmaids. Couples, entire wedding parties . . . there’s something for everyone.”
As a full-time wedding planner and owner of Twelfth Night Events for the past seven years, De Koster has been to her fair share of trade shows, and wanted something different for not only her clients, but for all couples in need of a helping hand. To make that happen, narrowing the field was key. Instead of a free-for-all, vendors are included by invitation only, as the show is designed to immerse visitors in an environment showcasing the height of style and excellence in the local wedding industry.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t find something for any budget.
“The title is London Luxury Bridal Show but regardless of that you can actually come here, enjoy a really awesome day out and meet with vendors that will be in your price point,” said De Koster, adding a lot of people see the word luxury and assume the show isn’t for them, which couldn’t be further from the truth. “It’s all about feeling like you're being celebrated in booking your vendors. It's all about the experience, and it’s all about the day.”
In order for vendors to be invited to the show, pre-requisites include having worked at least three to four years in the industry, as well as having more than 75 weddings under their belts.
Once again, the festivities will include a Bubble Bar, where guests can come and sip Prosecco, as well as the Cocktail Lounge thanks to TopShelf Distillers (with a 1920s speakeasy-vibe), Petrov’s Bridal Lounge (where lucky brides can say yes to the dress) and pampering at the Beauty Bar, with free hair and makeup.
New this year, the Luxury London Bridal Show is introducing The Ale House, featuring a pub-style atmosphere, with offerings from Anderson Craft Ales and the London Brewing Co-op.
“Generally, we're seeing a shift, not only in weddings but all sorts of purchases or elements with weddings and events, with people wanting to support local, customized just for them,” De Koster explained. “Even more than a theme or a colour palette, people will have a particular craft beer or a signature cocktail that is their jam, and it represents them as a couple. Having those mixologists and those experts who are able to pair or create that product is something that's unique — and really fun.”
The Luxury London Bridal Show takes over the London Convention Centre Sunday, March 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All ages are welcome, with wristbands for those who are 19+.
Tickets are $15 in advance (until Saturday, March 2) and $25 at the door.
Hightlights also include complimentary hors d’oeuvres and food stations, provided by the London Convention Centre, over $20,000 in prizes, giveaways, and promotions to be won, as well as live music and entertainment from London’s top DJ companies and complimentary underground parking.
