With just over a month left to go before the 2019 JUNO Awards hit Forest City streets, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) announced this year’s nominees during a press conference on Jan. 29.
In addition, news dropped that 12-time JUNO Award winner and Canadian Music Hall of Fame Inductee Sarah McLachlan will hit the Bud Gardens stage as this year’s host.
Shawn Mendes leads this year with a total of six nominations including JUNO Fan Choice, Single of the Year, and Pop Album of the Year, while The Weeknd received an impressive five nominations including R&B/Soul Recording of the Year — an award he has won four times previously.
First time nominees recognized with four nominations include bülow, and London’s very own Loud Luxury, while Alessia Cara, Bahamas, Hubert Lenoir, KILLY, Michael Bublé, Three Days Grace and Tory Lanez each walked away with three nominations apiece.
A flood of the country’s premier talent is set to take over the city for JUNO Week 2019, hosted right here in London starting on Monday, March 11, culminating in a live broadcast from Budweiser Gardens at 8 p.m. ET on CBC, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, the free CBC Gem streaming service and globally at cbcmusic.ca/junos.
The 2019 JUNO Awards will hit London Sunday, March 17 with performances by Loud Luxury, pop-singer bülow, and 2019 Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee Corey Hart.

For an additional $10 a ticket, plus shipping, fans are also able to purchase a 3D souvenir ticket, the ultimate keepsake and perfect way to commemorate Canada’s biggest night in music.
Thanks to a partnership with the City of London, $1 from each broadcast ticket will be donated to MusiCounts.
Along with the broadcast, London will host an entire week of JUNO programming, giving music enthusiasts a chance to interact with Canadian talent, including JUNO Fan Fare, Junior JUNOs, the JUNO songwriters circle, JUNOfest, and the JUNO Cup, where Canadian musicians lead by their loyal captain Jim Cuddy from Blue Rodeo and NHL legends will go head-to-head at the Western Fair District Sports Centre on March 15.
