Calling all Craft Beer Enthusiasts!

Enjoy the tastes and subtleties of the local craft beer phenomenon. There are a number of beloved, locally-owned small-batch brewers dedicated to making exceptional craft beer, right here in our neck-of-the-woods. Beer lovers and craft beer enthusiasts can find everything from signature brews, artisanal craft beers to seasonal flavours that pay homage to the hard work and wisdom of our local farmers.

Anderson Craft Ales

Head over to the Old East Village’s family-owned, independent craft brewery at 1030 Elias Street (east of Quebec). Anderson Craft Ales focuses on crafting small-batch, handcrafted premium hop-based ales, and offers cans, kegs and growlers. There’s a tap room that sells beers by the glass or flight. The atmosphere is convivial and relaxed. The refurbished industrial building is structured for tours and community events. Local food trucks like the Caribbean-inspired Cocoville and Smokestacks with its delicious pulled pork sandwiches are often part of the mix as well.
Tours available on Wednesday's at 8 PM and Saturday tours at 1 PM and 3 PM.

Forked River Brewing Company is always brewing something new, yet continues to serve up consistent and flavourful seasonal brews made with care in the traditional craftsman manner with all natural, quality ingredients. Three local, award winning home brewers, all Western University graduates teamed up to bring the Forest City the beer it deserves. There are two flagship brews on offer – Capital Blonde Ale and Riptide Rye Pale Ale. They also brew a rotating selection of one-offs. There is a retail and tasting room where you can buy a growler of draft or bottled half-litres of their beers.  
Free brewery tours at 12 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm on Saturdays. 
Forked River caps tour participants to 10 persons per group. Call on the day of to reserve your spot. Last minute staffing issues may force cancellation. Send an e-mail for pricing on private tours.

The London Brewing Co-operative 

The worker-owned London Brewing Co-operative believes “great beers start with superior ingredients,” that’s why they choose the finest local and organic malts and hops available. In their new facility in the Old East Village (just a stone’s throw from Anderson’s Craft Ales) on Burbrook Place, there is a taproom, retail space, and a larger brewing system. Visitors are able to purchase 4oz samples and 12oz drinks as well as beers to take home in growlers (1.89L), Boston rounds (950mL), and 650mL bottles. They also have t-shirts, shirts, and sweaters for those looking to wear their beer! The new location allows better opportunities for visitors to better understand the value of local ingredients and to taste the benefits that they bring to the beer and other products.

Railway City Brewing (St. Thomas) 

Railway City Brewing Company is located a short drive from London in St. Thomas. All locally brewed, all natural, craft brewed in small batches, using only the finest ingredients with no artificial adjuncts or preservatives. The Brewery features an onsite retail store with hourly tours and samples, 7 days a week. Try the Black Coal Stout it is one of several railway theme beers brewed by Railway City and lives up to its name in terms of colour.
Tours available for $5.00 per person; with beer samples $6.00 per person (4 x 3oz pours); tours & samples including a Railway Brewing Co., glass or bottle opener are $10.00 per person. Hours: Mon-Wed:  4pm - 6pm, Thurs-Fri: 4pm - 7pm, Saturdays: 12pm - 6pm, Sundays: 12pm - 3pm.

Toboggan Brewing Company 

Toboggan Brewing Company is a state-of-the-art brewed-on-premises craft brewery and pub located on Richmond Row. The concept is the inspiration of visionary Mike Smith, owner/operator of the landmark Joe Kool’s another must see attraction for hungry visitors in downtown London. Smith launched a line of small-batch craft beers after enlisting the expertise of skilled brewing masters. There is a small range of flagship beers available year round, and an always changing list of seasonal beers and one-offs. The 519 Kitchen is situated across the back of the main room which features a wood-burning oven and a large BBQ smoker. Offerings include small plates, street-style tacos, charcuterie and Neapolitan-style pizzas. Draft sampler trays are available. Be sure to visit The Beer and Gear store.
