What is S.T.E.P.?
• The S.T.E.P. program is intended for newcomers to Canada who have not
lived in a cold climate (experienced Canadian winter before coming to Canada)
• It is designed to enhance healthy lifestyles and increase activity
• S.T.E.P. program is meant for youth 12 – 21 years of age and adults
who would not normally have access to down hill skiing (because of geographical, cultural or
financial limitations)
• Care-givers and support persons are welcome to apply if the youth participant desires (maximum of 3 per group/family)
• The S.T.E.P. program is intended to promote inclusion for those at-risk
of isolation due to inactivity during winter weather
